Item Description
2021-020
1998 Holden Commodore, VS series III ute.
I bought the ute new and actually had to wait for it to be delivered from Adelaide as it was still on the assembly line in the factory when purchased. It is of the limited edition iD series and only 500 were built, based on the S model with extra features. A few weeks after getting it home, I had the windows tinted and a hard top put on. I swapped the standard radio/cassette player for a 12 stack CD player. And in 2012 I changed the wheels from the original 16″ low profiles to 18″ Speedy Night Riders.
On the circuit I noticed many utes with airbrushing detail that intrigued me, so I found a local artist that could assist with my vision. I had many covers under the bonnet airbrushed, themed to each individual cover. But the major piece of artwork was completed in June 2012 on the hardtop. I like to call it “Reflection in Time,” the image is my ute, reflecting the first Holden ute, a 1951 FX.
All exterior paintwork is original and the interior hasn’t been touched either.
